Accessing or Downloading your Microsoft 365 Apps

Overview

After your chaffey.edu email has been created by Admin Systems and provided to you by your supervisor, you will be able to access your Microsoft 365 account and your Microsoft applications.

Issue

**Note: If you do not remember what your password is for your Outlook, you may reset it via your "Forgot Password/Unlock Account" option on your Staff Portal log in.

You will be able to access your Microsoft 365 apps on the Browser once signed in.

You can also download your Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint on your personal devices by logging into your account on the Microsoft 365 website, and choosing to install Office on your account. 

Below are the steps provided by Microsoft on how to download or install your applications.

1. 
Go to microsoft365.com and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account with your Chaffey staff email.

2. At the top right of your browser window, select Install and more. Then, in the following drop down menu, select Install Microsoft 365 apps.

3. Follow the instructions in the browser to download the installer and start your installations.

a. In My Account, select View apps & devices.

4. Select Install Office on the following page.

a. You can also see what Devices under your Chaffey Microsoft 365 account already have Office installed by selecting the drop down for Devices, highlighted below.

**Note: The first time you open an app like Word or PowerPoint, you might need to sign in again with your Chaffey staff email and password to activate the application.

Troubleshooting

Additional Notes: 

  • As this is an account provided to you by Chaffey, you will only be able to access, download, and install the apps that your license provides you. If you are unable to access or download a specific Microsoft 365 app, it may not be included in your license.
     
    • You can install Office on up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.
       
  • If you require Microsoft 365 products to be downloaded on any District computers, you will need to reach out to ISRepairs@chaffey.edu, or contact our Help Desk at 909-652-6789.
